A few years ago if you wanted a non-alcoholic craft beer you’d probably have to get an O’Doul’s.  Times are changing and a handful of non-alcoholic craft breweries have popped up. This week, we talk with Athletic Brewing Co. to get the scoop on the growing NA craft beer scene.

Bill Shufelt and John Walker both love craft beer.  As Shufelt’s career and family became more of a priority, and he became more health conscious, alcohol frequently didn’t fit into the equation but he still wanted to enjoy a good beer.  Shufelt and Walker saw a void in the industry for quality, non-alcoholic brews.  After a few years of research, planning, and testing they launched their brewery.

We discuss the various methods of brewing non-alcoholic beer, the styles that are available, and who’s drinking NA craft beer.  We also find out what occasions are most appropriate for their beers, and where they see the market heading in the future.
