Catlanta The Giving Kitchen

You helped us raise $1,000 for The Giving Kitchen, and you are awesome!

The craft beer community has always impressed me with their ability to come together for a good cause.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have an amazing artist like Catlanta to make the giving that much easier.  Thanks to Catlanta, and all of you, we raised $1,000 for The Giving Kitchen.  You all are awesome.  The original painting sold for $585 (congratulations to Tim Cailloux on his winning bid) and the prints sold out in a few short hours.

What The Giving Kitchen can do with $1,000

As we go out to dinner or to grab a beer with our friends, many in the food service industry struggle to make ends meet.  A small accident or illness can cause major issues, and a serious incident could leave someone homeless.  When I reached out to the good folks at TGK to let them know what our final donation was they sent me a message back sharing some examples of the impact that donation would have.  Take a look at what your support can do for someone:

Did you know that $1000 is enough to cover the rent/mortgage for a restaurant worker in crisis, often for more than a month. That means you and your community have effectively staved off eviction for a mom keeping a watchful eye over her infant at Children’s, while he recovers from a traumatic surgery. Or for a dishwasher, who lost his mom and wasn’t sure he could afford to get to her funeral to say his last goodbyes. Or a bartender, who broke her arm when she was forced off the road while riding her bike home from a late shift at work. Because of you, tonight each of these applicants has a secure house to come home to, without worry of if the heat will work and the lights will be aglow. Thank you!
