It was a record-breaking night for beer.

The 2018 World Beer Cup was the largest competition to date. Just look at the numbers:

  • 8,234 beers were submitted in 101 categories, up 25% from the last WBC in 2016.
  • 2,515 breweries submitted entries, 807 of which were from outside the United States.
  • 295 judges participated from 33 countries.

“Beer brings people together,” said Charlie Papazian, founder and past president, Brewers Association. “The World Beer Cup showcases the breadth of the global brewing community and winning an award symbolizes one of the greatest brewing achievements.
