Reformation Barrel-Aged Providence set for brewery-only release
Reformation Barrel-Aged Providence release set for April 23rd
Reformation took their Belgian Tripel and aged it in bourbon barrels for a year then blended it for a balanced bourbon and oak finish. CEO/Co-Founder Spencer Nix says the finished product, “…begins slightly tart with a subtle but present caramel sweetness…” This release is limited to 400 bottles, available only at Reformation Brewery.
Nix added, “We decided to barrel age Providence for the sake of curiosity. We’d never really tried it, but the idea of connecting a Belgian Tripel to a bourbon barrel was too tempting not to explore. We leaned on patience to get this right. We could’ve taken it off much earlier and made a great beer, but the character deepened with time to make for an excellent beer (and story).”
Tickets are available now for the event on April 23rd from 1-9PM. The special event will include two 6 oz. tastings of Barrel-Aged Providence and one 22 oz bottle to-go, attendees may reserve up to 3 bottles, 1 per $15.00 tour purchase.
