The Beer Guys sat down with Dave Blanchard (Co-Owner) and Ryan Skinner (Beer Manager) of Decatur’s world-famous Brick Store Pub.  This week’s show is a bit different from our normal format as the conversation was flowing.

Dave tells us about opening a craft beer bar when there wasn’t much of a craft beer scene in Georgia and Decatur was a far cry from the beervana it is today.  He talks about how changing laws meant even more awesome beer to the pub and spurred the birth of the Belgian Bar upstairs as well as their massive cellar program.  He gives us a little insight into their upcoming 19th anniversary as well as a tease about the huge plans for their 20th anniversary.

Ryan chats with us about Georgia beer and what people are drinking, as well as what you should be drinking.  We discuss the boom of great beer in Georgia since opening the pub and how that’s helped them to offer many more local options they’re proud of.  Of course we talk (and drink!) Belgian beers and the huge variety they offer, all of this while relaxing in a nook in the Belgian Bar.

Truck and Tap‘s beers of the week include a variety of selections from the Brick Store, including Service‘s Rally Point Pilsner, Three Taverns A Night on Ponce IPA and Creature Comforts Bibo Pils.
