Hop Tea and Hop Water with Hoplark | Ep. 273
Hoplark was hatched out of a hunger for hops
You know we love our beer, but we do dabble in alternative beverages. This week we’re getting all fancy and sipping tea… with plenty of hops. Hoplark co-founder Dean Eberhardt loves his IPAs, but he likes to take a break from beer occasionally. On one such break he visited a brewery with a friend (co-founder Andrew Markley) and grabbed Markley’s IPA to get a big whiff of that hoppy aroma. He maintained his restraint, but the hunger for hops continued to brew.
After the brewery visit Eberhardt and Markley started discussing how they could enjoy a craft-brewed hoppy beverage while abstaining from alcohol. They’d homebrewed before, and weren’t very good at it, and they didn’t know anything about teas. Naturally, this hatched the idea of making hop teas. The first batch of Hop Tea was not good, but they kept going. Through plenty of trial and error with tea and hop strengths they finally got a brew they enjoyed. They took them to the local farmers market and they were a hit. More hop teas followed, and hop water recently joined the exaltation.
Hop Water joins the Exaltation
More hop teas followed, and they recently introduced hop water. Both the teas and water are lightly sparkling, gluten-free, non-GMO, Whole30, low/no sugar, vegan, and non-alcoholic. I feel healthier just typing that out.
Since all their hop teas and hop waters are alcohol-free you can purchase and have them shipped to you directly from their website at hoplark.com. In addition to the core lineup they also do special releases and have new beverages in the works.
If you want to get your hops and feel good about it, hop on over and check out Hoplark.
