This Week in Georgia Beer | March 25-31, 2016
This Week on Beer Guys Radio
We took a trip to Kennesaw and sat down with Burnt Hickory Brewery’s Scott Hedeen and Greg Niznik, organizer of the Depot Park Beer Fest. Scott tells us about what got him into craft beer and why he started a brewery, as well as a bit about his past life as an Emmy Award-winning TV cameraman. He explains how he blends his love of music and local history into his beers and about his unusual beer creations. We also chat about their upcoming 4th Anniversary, moving the party off-site (they’re having their party in conjunction with the Depot Park Beer Fest), and the cornucopia of collaborations they’ve done with breweries for the party. Greg, or The Nizzy to his friends, tells us more about the festival and how they’re working hard to bring a world-class beer list to Kennesaw. The list they’ve lined up continues to grow daily and currently includes a huge variety of Burnt Hickory beers, special brews from many Georgia breweries, and rarities from around the country.
Listen to Beer Guys Radio live at 1:00 PM Saturday on AM 920, or for you early-risers catch us Sunday at 6:00 AM on Biz 1190.
