Second Self Beer Co. plans 2018 expansion, sour beer program
Atlanta brewery plans second expansion in two years
For the second time in as many years, Second Self Beer Co. plans to expand its production. A 2016 expansion doubled capacity and debuted a new, larger taproom. Founded in 2014 by Jason Santamaria and Chris Doyle, the brewery and taproom are located in Atlanta’s brewery-centric Westside neighborhood.
Due to continued demand, the addition of new tanks will increase production 20%, allowing more of their year-round favorites Thai Wheat, Citrus IPA, and ATaLe, as well as popular seasonal brews like Maverick & Gose and Olde Oyl. Second Self will also expand their barrel-aging program and start their first series of sour beers in 2018.
The taproom will also feature new events and initiatives for visitors. Starting this month, pitchers of draft beer will be available to guests for the first time, and Second Self will host Fire Pit Fridays in their front yard weekly. Starting December 9th, The Real Mexican Vittles Taco Stand will be at the brewery every Saturday for lunch.
