(from media release)
Reformation Brewery is pleased to welcome Matt Tucker to its team as brewing operations manager. Tucker joins Reformation from Jdub’s Brewing Company in Sarasota, Fla. and brings expertise from his position as head brewer and director of brewing operations along with a passion for the industry.
Prior to Jdub’s, Tucker helped grow the reputation of Tampa, Fla.-based Cigar City Brewing, where he worked as packaging and production manager. He then led the popular Cigar City Brewpub as head brewer, overseeing all aspects of production from grain to glass. Prior to becoming a professional brewer, Tucker won several awards as a home and production brewer, including two national Homebrew Competition gold medals, “Florida Home Brewer of the Year” in 2012 and BOS Best Florida Beer Competition for Cigar City Brewing’s Vienna Lager in 2013.
“We are excited to bring Matt on board at such an exciting time for our organization. With his experience in both a large production brewery and brewpub, we’re looking forward to growing together in 2018,” said Nick Downs, brewmaster and co-founder of Reformation. “With a new location opening up this spring in downtown Woodstock, Matt will have a chance to make his mark in the heart of our community.”
Tucker joins the Reformation team as the brewery plans for more growth and expansion in the year ahead. The brewery recently announced the opening of its second location in historic downtown Woodstock next spring, featuring a multipurpose green space and research and development facility. Scout the Storyteller hits the market in Mid November
(from media release)
An original recipe from our early days brewed as a gift for Christmas, Scout the Storyteller has been a favorite in colder weather for many years.
Scout the Storyteller clocks in at 7.4% ABV, brewed with 15 lbs of fresh ginger (about 2 lbs per barrel) which lends an aromatic, gingerbread flavor against the balanced blend of warming spices. Sweetness and body from Gambrinus Honey Malts, and the addition of honey for increased alcohol, result in a rich, mildly sweet almost cake like experience.
Look for this limited release available in the market and from the brewery — draft mid November, and 12 oz cans Dec. 1st.
