This Week in Georgia Beer | Sept. 30 – Oct. 6, 2016
This Week on Beer Guys Radio
We talk with the good people at Good People! Brewery co-founder Jason Malone chats with us about running Alabama’s oldest production brewery, founded way back in 2008. We talk about the changes he’s seen over the years, introducing people to sour/wild ales through their Funk Farm, and expanding distribution to other areas, and more. We also talk with Sally Macaulay about the upcoming Chalktoberfest Festival which pairs craft beer and sidewalk art on the Marietta Square.
Next week we’re talking Oktoberfest! Friends of the show Owen Ogletree and John “JR” Roberts join us in the studio to chat about Oktoberfest in Georgia (and Germany) and what sorts of Festive beers are available from Georgia’s brewers.

* I wanted to chime in a bit more on this SweetWater news. SweetWater spent FOUR YEARS and several thousand dollars in a legal battle to change distributors in Alabama. There is NO reason a distributor should have that kind of power over a brewer. I’m glad SweetWater was able to fight the battle for their rights, but a smaller brewery could not have done the same. They would be forced to grin and bear it, or simply go out of business. Our three-tier is long overdue for some serious reform.
