Reformation Lark, a Prickly Pear Wheat beer, will release at the brewery on July 1st and at retailers soon after.

With a dry finish and notes of mixed­-berry preserves, Lark is a limited, draft-­only Adventure Release and debuts as part of the brewery’s celebration of ‘Set Beer Free Day’­­proclaimed by Mayor Donnie Henriques of Woodstock as a result of the brewery’s innovation, growth, community impact, and vision.

“We’re celebrating humor and invention with this beer,” says CEO Spencer Nix. “It was made on a lark for our Keeping Room as an in­house draft Pioneer. It was well received, so we decided to share the gift with a market release.”

Juicy and crisp with hints of melon, Lark is 4.8% ABV and brewed with Belgian yeast and blended with prickly pear nectar after fermentation. The nectar is derived from a cactus fruit and sourced from Arizona Cactus Ranch, a 100 year old cattle ranch that concentrates on selling natural prickly pear products (100% Certified Organic).

We recently had the opportunity to sample Lark and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.  It’s got great body and mouthfeel, and a nice bready maltiness.  The prickly pear is tart and juicy, with a hint of sweetness in the beer from the malt bill.  It’s very refreshing and unique, check it out if you get the chance.

July 1st is Set Beer Free Day in Woodstock and across Cherokee County

Cherokee County recently joined the city of Woodstock in proclaiming July 1st Set Beer Free Day.  The day is meant to recognize Reformation’s contributions to the community and highlight the challenges facing all Georgia breweries.  Reformation will host a special tasting on July 1st with Mayor Henriques reading a proclamation and hosting a toast during the event.
