This Week in Georgia Beer | June 10-16, 2016
This Week on Beer Guys Radio
We’re joined in the studio by Kathy Davis from Abbey of the Holy Goats. Kathy is owner and Brewmaster at Abbey of the Holy Goats and she chats with us about Roswell’s newest brewery. If you’re not familiar with Kathy’s story pre-brewing, it’s a good one. She tells us about the many hats she wore before getting into brewing, and how she almost became a nun. We talk about her inspiration and process for creating her recipes, and what drew her to Belgian beers. We dive into the topic of being a woman in a male-dominated industry, and what that meant for her starting her brewery. Kathy brought an awesome Belgian Strong Golden Ale to share with us, from a batch she brewed before the brewery even opened. We also talk with Tara Nurin, a journalist that recently wrote an article for Forbes discussing the definition of “craft beer” and the animosity brewing on both sides of that discussion.
