Win passes to Birmingham’s Magic City Brewfest
Magic City Brewfest is coming to Birmingham June June 3-4, 2016
This will be the 10th year anniversary of Magic City Brewfest presented by Free the Hops! Magic City Brewfest is a weekend dedicated to learning about craft beer and sampling the best that Alabama has to offer. There will be 200+ individual beers available including many rare, specialty and cask ales which have never been seen before in Alabama (and may never be seen again).
What to expect:
- 200+ beers including many rare, specialty, and cask ales (List subject to change)
- Alabama Cask Garden sponsored by The J. Clyde
- A variety of food options
- Live music both Friday and Saturday
- Did we mention there’s beer?
Check the brewfest website as they update info on breweries, food vendors, and bands. This year there’s also a Magic City Brewfest companion app that you can download from Google Play or the App Store. The app will show you the full list of breweries plus info on each beer, and allow you to mark the beers you try. Neat.

Good people brown ale
Good People Brown Ale
Cahaba Blonde all the way.
I usually go with a Vanillaphant Porter from Avondale.
Good People’s Fatso!
The Trim Tab Rye Brown is not only my favorite Alabama beer, it’s one of my favorite beers on the planet. It’s exceptionally well balanced, unlike many southern browns, and leaves a clean finish so you can sip on it all afternoon or evening long.
No Joka Mocha by Avondale
Snakehandler by good people.
I’m with Holly, Trim Tab Raspberry is really good – but I love Avondale Brewery’s Vanillaphant (and their seasonal Joka Mocha is tooooo delicious!)
Blue Pants Pinstripe Stout
