Green Man Brewery to begin distribution in Georgia
Green Man Brewery is a staple of the craft beer scene in Asheville, NC. They’ve been around 19 years and are in the process of opening a new, 3-story building next to their current location. I spoke with Dennis Thies, Green Man’s owner, about their plans to move into Georgia.
Initial roll-out will include their flagship beers – an English IPA, ESB, and a Porter. They’ll start with bottles only and offer draft in the future. The release will be statewide, with the exception of Atlanta and Savannah – sorry ATL peeps, you’ll have to take a bit of a road trip to get your Green Man fix to start. Dennis tells me they’re rolling out this way as, “Distributing in Atlanta is like moving into a whole new state.” He did mention they’ll distribute into Atlanta and Savannah when “it makes sense”, hopefully by the end of 2016.
They will definitely cover Athens so if the Classic City is your home you should see their beers hitting very soon, hopefully within a month.
