Wrecking Bar – Episode 9
Wrecking Bar Brewpub joins the Beer Guys in studio this week.
Truck and Tap‘s Beers of the week are Wrecking Bar’s Dr. Fünke sour pale ale and the Maltlanta Sticky Doppelbock.
The Wrecking Bar guys talked about opening the restaurant in downtown Atlanta, and their concept of locally sourced food and craft beer. They also talked about the immense popularity of their Cinco de Siberius release (the 5th of every month), and some other of their popular releases, including a great Kölsch. They also spoke about the newest effort, Wrecking Barn Farm in Walton County.
News and notes:
- Aaron visited 1821 Brewing Company in Lawrenceville. They are planning on opening late this year / early 2017. Follow them on Facebook for updates!
- Tim checked out Naughty Soda in Kennesaw, and went to SweetWater‘s 19th anniversary party.
- And because Tim is a social animal, he also went to Kennesaw’s Nest restaurant. As of this writing, they have temporarily closed to regroup and will re-open soon.
- Locomotion Brewing is apparently a thing (link goes to paywall).
- Congratulations to two local brewers who made Paste magazine’s top Pale Ale blind tasting list. The iconic Sweetwater 420 came in at #19, and Wild Heaven’s Let There Be Light placed #11.
- Tuesday’s election is more than just Donald Trump. Down in Sumter County, Sunday beer/wine sales are on the ballot. Good luck to our friends in Americus.
Thanks again to Wrecking Bar’s Bob Sandage and Neal Engleman for coming out.
Good luck to Tim, and all of our friends in the homebrewing community at the Peach State Brew Off!
