The Truck and Tap Beers of the week were a copious amount of Bob’s recent home brewing escapades. As well as two from Little Cottage (Jon Shari) home brewing’s collection – the amazing Copra Cacao and Wax On.

Home Brewing Facts from the American Homebrewers Association

  • It was illegal in the U.S. until 1979, remained illegal in some states until 2013, when AL and MS finally legalized it
  • There are 1.2 million homebrewers in the US
  • ⅔ of those began homebrewing in 2005 or later
  • Average homebrewer is 40 years old, most fall between 30-49
  • 69% have a college degree
  • 60% have household incomes of $75k or more
  • Homebrewers in the US produce 2 Million barrels of beer a year, which equates to about 1% of all beer production in the US
  • 95% of homebrewers buy from local shops, 80% also buy from online stores
