BEER RELEASES

  • GEORGIA BEER
    • Burnt Hickory Noggin Knocker Bombers | Egg Nog Stout | Bombers are hitting stores now.  Grab it while you can, it’s moving fast.  Aaron says this is probably the best Georgia beer he’s had this year, and you can take that to the bank.
    • Creature Comforts Koko Buni | Milk porter with cacao nibs, coffee, and toasted coconut | Draft is on around town now, but kicks quickly when tapped.  Cans will hit Athens on 12/19 and Creature Comforts is “still trying to figure out Atlanta.”  I look forward to the calm and rational discussions folks have on their quest for this beer.
    • Orpheus The Ferryman | Imperial Stout with vanilla beans and hazelnuts | Aaron and I attended the release for The Ferryman at Orpheus this week and we both really enjoyed the beer.  I got plenty of vanilla and hazelnut in the beer, reminded me of those little Ferrero Rocher candies, you know the ones.  Other reviews say the vanilla and hazelnut were very light.  There’s only one way for you to know for sure, go get you some.
    • Terrapin Cinnamon Roll’d Wake N Bake | Cinnamon Roll Coffee Stout | Return of the popular Reserve Series beer from Terrapin.  In keeping with tradition some reviewers are saying this release isn’t as good as the last one.
  • NON-GEORGIA BEER
    • Bell’s Cherry Stout | Stout with tart cherries
    • Clown Shoes Aurora Orangealis | Citrus-hopped IPA with orange peel | Georgia-only release.  This beer is great.  We talked to Sean Geary, Brand Manager for Clown Shoes, while enjoying a bottle in the studio.  Check out this video of our interview with Sean to see what he has to say about making this beer for us.  This is V1 of this beer, a second round will be released in early February with minor tweaks based on consumer feedback.
    • Prairie Christmas Bomb 2015 | Imperial Stout with spices
    • Smuttynose Really Old Brown Dog | Old Ale
    • The Unknown Brewing Co. | Atlanta Launch | Charlotte, NC based brewery launching in Atlanta this week.  Check out their events through this weekend at your favorite watering hole to see what they’ve got on tap for Georgia
