Georgia Beer Day 2017

January 28th has been designated as Georgia Beer Day for 2017.  Multiple breweries and brewpubs around the state will be hosting events to help raise funds for the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild (GCBG) to aid in their fight for better beer laws in our state.

The GCBG has been instrumental in making change happen in Georgia over the last few years.  Beer politics in our state are a tough fight, with large corporations holding strong political influence in the past that has stopped or slowed changes.  Even with these challenges, our breweries have won the right to offer variable pricing for tours (they were mandated to offer free tours in the past), offer beer samples on site and to-go as souvenirs with your tour, and our brewpubs can now offer growlers to-go. Both breweries and brewpubs can use social media to promote their offerings, as ridiculous as it sounds this is something they couldn’t do a couple of year ago.  All of this is thanks to the efforts of the GCBG.

If you want to see the fight continue and more progress for our breweries, check out one of these events on Georgia Beer Day.
