Six Bridges Brewing

Johns Creek’s first brewery will focus on IPAs, Saisons, and barrel-aged Stouts

The City of Johns Creek has approved the opening of its first brewery.

Six Bridges Brewing has been in the planning stages for over a year and with the green light from the city will move ahead as quickly as they are able to.  Owner Clay Gridley originally planned to open as Etowah River Brewing in Canton, but for various reasons moved to Johns Creek and adopted a new name.

The project will be a father-son venture focusing on IPAs, Saisons/Farmhouse Ales, and Stouts.  Six Bridges will be a production brewery and occupy a 12,000 sq ft space, Gridley would like to keep the exact location confidential for now.  The brewhouse will feature a 4-vessel, 30-barrel system and they intend to have a barrel program.  Canning is planned with 16-ounce 4-packs for purchase at the brewery and the possibility of 12-ounce 6-packs for distribution.  Although Six Bridges will not offer food service they are working with the city to have food trucks at the brewery, which currently isn’t allowed by local ordinance.

Although Gridley acknowledges the current trend of NE IPAs and the “haze craze” he tells us they’ll brew many variations of the style with a wide range of hops.  Saisons will offer something a bit lighter and drinkable, with big barrel-aged stouts coming in the colder months.

Six Bridges has selected CRL Contracting and Axis Infrastructure for the design and build-out of the brewery.  No definitive timeline is set for an opening date at this time.
