Argosy owners purchase Oak Brewpub
Revamped brewpub to bring new beer styles, barrel program to Oakhurst
Shortly after their official grand opening, Oak Brewpub announced they were closing temporarily due to a change in ownership. The ink is dry now and Donald Durant, Armando Celentano, and Benjamin Rhoades of popular restaurant and beer bar Argosy are the brewpubs new owners. .
Brewmaster Barron Sluder will remain on the team under the new ownership. Sluder tells us the brewpub will feature a total redesign of the decor inside and out, including an updated patio. Both food and beer menus will be brand new, although Sluder says his Berliner Weisse will remain on the lineup. A barrel-aging program is slated for the future.
“I’m so grateful that the guys chose to keep me on the team as their brewer. Armando, Donald, and Ben are fantastic people and they have already shown Atlanta what they can do in the beer scene with Argosy,” Sluder says, “I’m very excited to work with them and bring new and innovative beers into production.”
When asked if the decor would mimic Argosy we were told that’s under wraps for now (as is the new name) but the updated space will ditch the industrial layout for something more warm and inviting. Barring any delays in licensing and construction, the brewpub is slated to re-open in March.
