Expect to see more Scofflaw Brewing Company around in the near future.

Today, the Westside Atlanta brewery announced a partnership with BrewDog USA.

According to Scofflaw, it’s a one-year agreement that will allow access to the Ohio brewery to expand production of its canned beer for distribution in Georgia.

“James Watt (BrewDog co-founder and CEO) and Tim Hawn (BrewDog COO) have offered us a bridge,” said Matt Shirah, Scofflaw co-founder and president. “We can, no pun intended, continue to produce beer and simultaneously build out our third expansion. We are also working to develop our own, more sophisticated Atlanta-based canning operation.”

Shirah stressed that Scofflaw’s current draft production facility and taproom will stay at its current location.

BrewDog USA currently boasts a 100,000 square foot brewery in Canal Winchester, Ohio. The 42-acre facility is open and running, but it has excess space. This partnership allows Scofflaw to use that currently unused space. The plans are to brew and can Basement IPA, Double Jeopardy and Hooligan at BrewDog.

Although this agreement is for canning beers for the Georgia market, BrewDog’s Ohio taproom will have some Scofflaw beer on draft, and a collaboration is in the works.

Scofflaw is in the midst of its third expansion. According to Shirah, when completed, it will increase capacity to 30,000 barrels, making it one of the largest breweries in the state.
