Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing is releasing two “spooky” brews for Halloween.

These two special releases will be available at the brewery on Saturday, and will hit bottle stores next week. In the meantime, here are the details:

Sinner’s Son:

  • Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with Coffee
  • Malt bill:  2 Row, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Flaked Oats, Crystal, Victory, Lactose
  • Hops:  Columbus
  • ABV:  12.4%
  • IBUs:  60

The latest release from the Woodlands Project. Just prior to bottling, a fresh blend of coffee and espresso beans from the JavaVino farm was introduced to harmonize with the roasted malts and bring balance to its complex barrel aged soul. Clocking  in at 12.4% ABV, SweetWater says Sinner’s Son has “chocolate and vanilla notes, a velvety mouthfeel and hints of oak.”

Hatchery Series Release #4:

  • Chocolate Milk Stout
  • Malt bill:  2 Row, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Flaked Oats, Crystal, Victory, Lactose
  • Hops:  Mt Hood
  • Cocoa Nibs

This is the latest small batch specialty from SweetWater’s pilot system, The Hatchery.  The brewers said, “We used lactose and flaked oats to create a smooth, sweet and creamy chocolate brew that will remind you of your younger days.  Just don’t let that school bully steal your milk money!”
