Second Self Olde Oyl

Atlanta’s Second Self Beer Company‘s Olde Oyl, a Russian Imperial Coffee Stout, has made its seasonal return just in time for the colder months.

Olde Oyl is the strongest beer in Second Self’s line-up, clocking in at 11% ABV.  It’s brewed with roasted malts and oats for a rich body, robust aroma, and smooth coffee finish.  Second Self partnered with Atlanta coffee roaster Octane Coffee to get a special variation of their Gravy Espresso offering for the beer.  The espresso features beans from Brazil, Columbia, and Ethiopia with flavor notes of devil’s food, dark chocolate, sweet almond, hazelnut, cherry, orange, and lemon.

Suggested pairings are prime rib, roasted mushrooms, French onion soup, very sharp cheddar, and chocolate mousse.

Olde Oyl is currently available on draft at Second Self’s taproom in Atlanta (1317 Logan Circle NW), and will be in bars and restaurants throughout Georgia starting this week.
