Three Taverns Craft Beers offers a lot of cool projects at their brewery in Decatur, GA.  The popular Sour Asylum series has given us Rapturous (a Raspberry sour ale) in cans and the new Hop Leaf Project explores different varieties of hops.  Most of these releases are available only in The Parlour (their tasting room) with some limited availability on draft outside of the brewery.

In response to the many requests from fans to take some of these limited beers home Three Taverns will start offering select batches as brewery-only can releases.  First up is their Sour Asylum #2 – Cranberry Sauced.  This cranberry sour ale with cinnamon and clove releases just in time for you to pour it with your Thanksgiving dinner.

I sampled Cranberry Sauced last week on draft at my local World of Beer.  I thought it might be too tart with the cranberries but it’s got a great balance, there’s a bit of sweetness there to help it along and the spices are definitely noticeable but just there in supporting roles.  I’ll definitely plan to grab some cans when this releases.

Three Taverns Launches New Brewery-Only Can Releases with Sour Asylum #2 | Cranberry Sauced

Decatur, GA: Over the past year Three Taverns Craft Brewery’s tasting room, The Parlour, has grown to regularly include a line-up of 12-14 beers on tap during brewery tours and tastings. And like the popular Sour Asylum series and the new Hop Leaf Project, many of these tasting room beers are small batch, draft-only releases, or tasting room exclusives which are not available in a packaged format.

“With so many beers on tap in limited availability, we’ve had repeated requests from fans asking us when they can have ‘beer x’ in a can or bottle,” says founder Brian Purcell.  “But with our production at near 100%, we just don’t have capacity to add more beers to our market portfolio at this time.”

In an effort to accommodate these growing requests, Three Taverns is going to start offering brewery-only 4-pack and 6-pack can releases. And with Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, they are opening with one of their most popular beers and #2 from the Sour Asylum series, Cranberry Sauced. Referred to by many as Thanksgiving in a glass, Cranberry Sauced is a tart lacto-fermented sour ale brewed with cranberry juice, cinnamon and clove.

This inaugural brewery-only 6-pack can release will be included as part of a special tour for $10.00 scheduled for next Thursday, November 17, at 5:30pm. It will be very limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis until supplies run out. Look for announcements from Three Taverns about more brewery-only exclusives through the end of 2016 and throughout 2017.
