Cahaba and Ale Sharpton – Episode 29 – Beer Guys Radio
Birmingham Brewery Cahaba and Atlanta-based blogger, host, social media star….you name it….Ale Sharpton joined us in the studio today for the Beer Guys Radio Show.
Brewmaster/Owner Eric Meyer took a break from doing his taxes to talk to us about his rapidly-growing brewery. Early this year, they moved from 8,000 square feet and a 3.5 barrel system to 51,000 square feet and 30 barrels.
We discuss the growth of the Birmingham beer scene, including friends of the show Trim Tab and J. Clyde.
Ale Sharpton also joined us in the studio, talking about his recent trips to Detroit and Dallas, including his close scrape with the tragic events of the past weeks.
Doing an interview with the homies, @beerguysradio, in Buckhead, ATL. They have a dope setup and I’m toasting to it with the @creaturecomfortsbeer Automatic Pale Ale in hand, followed by the @burnthickorybrewerybrewery Digits and soon, @Blackrocksbrewery’s The Murray project limited DIPA I brought back from Detroit’s 8 Degrees Plato brew spot. My bro, @bellsbrewery’s Jarrett, just got here too with some gangster gift to pour. Love it! @atlfoodwriter
Without going too in-depth, we also talked about the culture of craft beer, and how it can really help bridge some of the boundaries we see in this nation.
But hey, that’s a little too heavy for us, so back to the beer….

Tim’s Whales of the week
Prairie Artisan Ales Birthday Bomb! and Apple Brandy Noir: If you haven’t bought this yet, you may be out of luck. Prarie’s Bomb! variants are always in high demand. Ale, Aaron and Tim all agreed that while both were exellent, the Apple Brandy Noir was the standout.
