Creature Comforts The Curious No. 6 to release at the brewery April 30th

The Curious No. 6 is a mixed culture, tart blonde ale fermented in wine barrels with a secondary fermentation on peaches.  Creature Comforts collaborated with Pearson Farm in Fort Valley, GA to source the peaches for this beer.  The farm has been growing peaches for over 100 years and is Georgia’s first peach farm.  Creature Comforts chose Elberta peaches for this brew, an heirloom variety grown exclusively by Pearson Farm

Creature Comforts says, “The Curious No. 6 comes in at 7% ABV and was bottle conditioned for several months to a soft carbonation in order to bring out the subtle notes and complexity of the beer.  The beautiful aroma of the brew, coming from the addition of the Elberta peaches, melds perfectly with the delicate and balanced flavor and acidity, allowing for a unique sensory experience.

When drinking The Curious No. 6 you can expect the aroma to be as if you’ve sunk your teeth into the best peach you’ve ever had“, said Head Brewer and Co-Founder David Stein.  “It’s really remarkable how the fresh peach character carried on throughout the entire fermentation and aging process into the bottle.  You can literally smell and taste the peach skin, bringing in the sense of touch to the experience, which is pretty surreal.”

The Curious series is Creature Comforts’ limited bottle release series that the brewery uses to explore new techniques, flavors, and ingredients.  Other offerings have included a dry-hopped wild Ale (No. 1), a blonde American Brett beer with kiwi and pineapple juice (No. 2), and a golden sour fermented with local yeast and bacteria from Athens, GA (No. 5), among others.  The Curious No. 2 received a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2014, making it the brewery’s first award-winning beer.
