The Beer Guys Radio show invited two of Georgia’s neighbor breweries to the studios today.

Jason Wilson, founder and owner of Gadsden, Alabama’s Back 40 Brewing Company. He talks about the roots of his craft beer business (and it’s Atlanta connection). Back 40 Brewing won a silver in the 2014 Great American Beer Festival for its Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale. Jason is also president of the Alabama chapter of the Brewer’s Association, and talks about their fight for better beer laws.

Next, Evan Crutchfield stopped by. The national sales manager for Asheville, North Carolina’s Wicked Weed Brewing talked about the brewery’s rapid growth, their busy brewing schedule, and plans for the future. Plus….

Truck and Tap’s Beers of the week were an assortment of Wicked Weed’s beers supplied by Evan, including:

Pernicious IPA
Freak of Nature Double IPA
Bedeviled Belgian Golden Strong Ale
The Parking Lot Grisette (Wicked Weed’s collaboration with Jester King)
Red Angel Sour Ale with raspberries. Lots of raspberries.

PODCAST SPECIAL:

Great news for Georgia brewpubs, as the ability to sell to-go growlers is gaining momentum. Savannah was the first municipality to get it started this week, and Moon River became the state’s first brewpub to sell its beer to go. Tim has the story, and Aaron has the interview here.

Coming up next week? We spend the whole hour with one of the Atlanta area’s most iconic beer bars..the Brick Store Pub.
